Me and oh are talking about TTC again, We would both really like a girl and wondered if anyone had actually had any sucess with the techniques you can find online?

Obviously we will be happy either way but if we could try to tip the odds i'm up for trying lol

Ok... I have got Aimee and also got another girly on the way.

Apparently they say it has something to do with the speed of the sperm and the time you bd around ov.

I ov'd on the Sunday/Monday and we b'd the following Wednesday and fell pregnant this time (defo the date we concieved)... and are having another girl.

I am sure when I fell pg with Aimee I fell after ov as well.

So, I would try to bd after you think you have ov'd.

Thanks laura! i was looking into that the other day, aparently if you bd within 12 hours of ovulation your more likely to have a girl.
Seems in your case to be true! I will have to try it lol

i thought it was the other way round

if u do the deed beofre ov you have a boy.. due to the female sperm can live longer in the womb but swim slower...

where as if you want a boy, do the deed after u ov or on the day.. as male sperm swim alot faster and an get to it..

http://www.babiesonline.com/articles/ttc/canyouchoosesex.asp

it explains it here a bit

but at the end of the day its 50/50 i guess?

Happy- shettles theory seems to be a bit hit and miss aparently.

I did quite a bit if research and it would appear that by altering your diet and bd after ov you can slightly sway the odd's but not enough so its pretty much 50/50 as you say!

Hey ho, not teying atm anyway but when we are i don't care what we have tbh! i just want babies lol

I read somewhere that female sperm survive longer so if you bd 4 or 5 days before ov and then abstain you should conceive a girl. It worked for me. Other than that i'm just lucky???

When I was ttc my last I read into it a lot.
It then got to the point I just wanted to get pregnant and did not care if it was boy or girl.
I had another boy so now have 3 boys. I am now ttc again and am not even looking into it this time, if I have a girl fantastic but just think I will always have a boy no matter what I try! x

just having a nosey through here, thought i'd give my two cents.
i don't know when i ovulated but i had my last period on 30th september, did the deed on 9th october and i got pregnant. i'm assuming it was before i ovulated because i doubt i would after 9 days. so that supports shettles theory here! Smile
